Frequently asked questions
What membership do I need?
Wayfarer (£25/month): best for occasional travel — five-day advance booking window, subject to blackout dates over peak periods, positioning legs at £100/seat.
Aviator (£100/month): for regular flyers — same-day booking, named individuals and immediate family, two Crowd Hops per month, positioning legs at £75/seat, no blackout dates.
Clubmaster (£1,000/month): for businesses, hotels and organisations — fly anyone, anytime, next-available-departure priority, positioning legs at £50/seat.
See the comparison table below:
Are your prices return or one-way fares?
Every price published by 1 Hop Club is a one-way fare for a single leg in one direction. If you fly out and fly back, that is two legs and you will be charged for both separately.
This applies to whole-aircraft charter prices and to per-seat positioning leg rates. There are no return fares and no automatic return discounts unless specifically agreed in writing at the time of booking.
The Aviator Crowd Hop allowance of two hops per month is structured specifically to cover one return day trip — out counts as one hop, back counts as the second. This is intentional: the pricing and the benefit are both built around the leg, not the journey.
What does 'whole aircraft' mean?
When you book a 1 Hop Club flight, you're booking the entire aircraft. The price is fixed regardless of whether you fill every seat. You're not buying an individual seat - you're buying the flight. Whether you're travelling alone, with two people or six, the price of the flight remains the same.
What is a 'positioning leg'?
A positioning leg is when our aircraft needs to move from one location to another and would otherwise fly empty. Rather than waste the seats, we broadcast availability to all current members at short notice.
Any member — regardless of tier — can jump on a positioning leg. You pay per seat, not per aircraft, and the rate depends on your membership:
Wayfarer: £100 per seat
Aviator: £75 per seat
Clubmaster: £50 per seat
Positioning legs are operationally driven and typically short notice - we don't schedule them in advance, and availability isn't guaranteed.
They're first-come, first-served for members only. Guests cannot travel on positioning legs.
What is a 'Crowd Hop'?
Crowd Hops are a completely separate benefit exclusive to Aviator members. Every Aviator member gets two Crowd Hops per calendar month - enough for one return day trip.
A Crowd Hop is your whole aircraft, your booking, your group. You can fill every seat with whoever you want - friends for a lunch across the water, a golf group, a day out. None of your fellow passengers need to be members.
The one rule that applies to your guests: any non-member flying under a Wayfarer or Aviator booking may only do so twice per calendar year.
So the same group of non-member friends can't come every month indefinitely on your Crowd Hops - after two flights each, they'll need to join at Wayfarer or above.
Crowd Hops and positioning legs are not the same thing. A Crowd Hop is something you initiate - a social booking of the whole aircraft. A positioning leg is something we broadcast - empty seats on an operationally-necessary flight. They are separate products.
Can I bring guests who aren't 1 Hop Club members?
Yes — on whole-aircraft bookings and Crowd Hops, but not on positioning legs.
Wayfarer and Aviator members: any non-member guest may fly on your booking up to twice per calendar year. After two guest flights they'll need to join as a member (Wayfarer or above) before they can fly again under a Wayfarer or Aviator account.
Clubmaster members: no guest restrictions. A Clubmaster account lets you fly anyone, any time, as many times as you like. Guests travelling under a Clubmaster booking are never counted against the two-flight limit and are not required to join as members.
Are children allowed to fly?
Yes. Children must hold a valid passport and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children under 2 who cannot occupy their own seat should be noted at booking. Safety regulations may impose specific requirements which the operating crew will advise at the time of booking.
Can I bring my dog or other pets?
Yes — pets are very welcome. The firm rule is that pets may only travel on whole-aircraft bookings. They cannot travel on positioning legs or any flight where seats are sold individually.
Declare your pet at the time of booking and make sure any required health or travel documentation is in order — requirements vary by destination and it is your responsibility to check.
We don't require dogs to be crated for travel but they must be on a leash at all times.
Cats, bird, dinosaurs and other small pets should remain in their cage or travel crate for the safety of everyone on board.
Please don't let your pets damage the upholstery, aircraft or crew! Any damage will be documented and may be chargeable.
What are blackout dates?
Wayfarer members cannot make new bookings during designated peak periods — currently Alderney Week, Easter weekend, Guernsey Liberation Weekend, Summer Bank Holiday weekend, and the Christmas/New Year period (23 December – 3 January).
Full blackout dates are published on our website by 1 October each year. Aviator and Clubmaster members have no blackout restrictions.
Blackout Dates 2026/2027
What baggage can I fly with?
Baggage allowance is allocated per booking, not per person. Exact limits depend on the aircraft type and total passenger weight. We will confirm at the time of booking. Small aircraft have different constraints to commercial jets — if you are bringing unusual items or freight, tell us upfront.
Why do I need to upload my passport?
Because we fly across international borders, every passenger - whether a member or guest - must have a valid passport registered with us before they board. It is a legal requirement, not a formality. It also means our guest limits and membership restrictions apply to the person, not to an email address. There are no workarounds.
What happens if the weather causes a cancellation?
Your safety is absolute. If a flight cannot depart safely, we will reschedule or refund in full. We do not charge fees for cancellations or reschedules made by the operator.
Is my money protected?
1 Hop Club does not hold flight deposits. Payments are processed at the point of booking and tied directly to your confirmed flight. We do not pool or hold member funds between bookings. Flights are not protected under ATOL regulations.
As with all travel, we advise you to ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place before booking or flying.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, at any time. Email info@1hop.club to cancel your membership.
Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing month. No partial month refunds are provided.
Please note: if you have taken any flights under your membership and then cancel, a 24-month re-joining blackout applies before we can accept a new membership application.
